The words, “Guide me to Financial Freedom” are the only words that I hear in my head when everything is silent. They say women have intuition. The Oxford Languages dictionary defines “intuition” as:
“the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning.”
Why on Earth would I not listen too it. I trust me, if no one else. So, I decided to follow my intuition to guide me to Financial Freedom and believe it or not, starting your journey to financial freedom may be easier than anyone may think.
For me I just needed to follow my intuition! Is there something on repeat or a constant reminder in your head, or something that you feel interests you, but it does not feel as if it is within your grasp? Trust me when I say, “Reach for it”.
Intuition
Does anyone reading this believe that we all have a destiny here on this earth. Let’s not get all into the spiritual versus religious aspects of it all… just in general. Does anyone believe upon our existence in this world, that there was an assigned mission or purpose? Well, I am curious to see what y’all, (Tennessee representing ;)-, think.
I have just always felt as though I had a purpose. No clue what it was and don’t think I am conceited or what’s the word… ARROGANT, when I say what I am about to say, but I have always felt that I was NOT created to be on this earth and just be pretty. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am well put together. So what the heck am I supposed to do with all this greatness? They say that… (I don’t know who they is), everybody has a talent, something special about them that comes naturally.
My thing is writing. I have always enjoyed writing, but I never found a place in my life where that would be profitable, so I did not waste much time with it. But I will randomly write about anything. Those of you who have been out of high school for 10 plus years likely would get a hand cramp if you were to pick up a pencil/pen and paper to write a single one-page letter. But I love it. It takes me back when I get to erase my mistakes, but most of my pencils are so old they don’t even have erasers anymore! (That just made me giggle a little). Anyway, my son who is 24 years old decided that when he was freshly out of high school that he was interested in digital imagery. He did not want to waste his time or money on going to school. Why would he when he was already good at what he wanted to do? His uncle (my brother) has been a great success and he never went to school. They just both wanted to find the right audience to share it with. Surround themselves in the vicinity of the energy that they wanted to swallow them whole.
Envy Not
The two of them are my biggest inspirations. I have always known that I enjoyed writing, but I never thought that I could create my own way to make that profitable. I do not have to go to a 4-year University, or work as a journalist or even be an author to simply write. Watching the two of them made me proud, but my son… I was paying so much more attention when I watched my son blossom versus my brother. All I did was encouraged him to do what ever he wanted, but my son saw my brothers growth and it undoubtedly rubbed off on him.
Too often people struggle financially because they live above their means. Ya homegirl got a new car? Celebrate her! That does not mean you are in the right situation for a new car as well. Especially, when you have not even been thinking of getting one. It is important to put your priorities .
Budget
So first, I found my thing… my niche as they call it. Then someone to trust, to guide me to financial freedom.
In my case, it was a matter of becoming self-aware of who I was. What my contribution is too my financial debt? If I look at the whole picture and be completely honest with myself then I can Guide me to Financial Freedom. I looked at what I am paying for that I do not need. CABLE!!!! We literally watch two things on cable. Adult Swim and football. Our family expense for cable was around $150 a month. That’s $1800 annually. FOR TWO CHANNELS… that can go. My intuition says that math does not math. Plan for those more expensive purchases. If, you can not pay off the total amount on your statement by the due date, simply do not purchase it. You are paying way more than it is worth already, so adding interest too it does not make much sense. Better yet. Since you were planning on paying it off my next month, just WAIT til next month!
Choose Wisely
Learn that living above your means is going to be a set back and likely a deal breaker in eliminating debt and reaching financial freedom in general. Distinguish the difference and the importance during this time between a “Want” and a “Need”. Find a compromise when a debt can not be completely eliminated. You may find it necessary to settle for a Netflix special vs a live comedy show, or a nice indoor hotel pool instead of a beach. Consider alternatives and realize that it is only a temporary solution for more lucrative and permanent outcome. That’s right, guide me to financial freedom
I used to feel that people who figured out their path to financial freedom, were scammers or greedy because if it was so much money out her to be made then why are you not sharing the knowledge to the wealth, but then when I watched some one giving free, step by step instructions on how to do it. I followed along and it was not only easy it was true. . I rushed to the comments to see how excited the audience was and I was flabbergasted at the negative comments and unkind words. They had not even attempted an effort and they were bashing her and she was truly trying to help! She still tries to tell people but it is just heartbreaking that our society causes us to believe the truth is a lie and a lie is the truth. But unfortunately, you still have to decipher which is which…
This Concludes
If my brother can live comfortably in San Diego, CA and my son can record videos for Gucci Mane (Legendary, Hip Hop Artist), there is surely something that I can do with my writing talent, right? It was at that moment a light bulb came on and I realized I was already doing it! I just need to do as they both did and expand on it. Think bigger.
So my answer is yes!!!! Although it took me 44 years to figure it out I finally recognized it for its worth. My take away would be not to focus so much on whether your talent can make you rich or whether it can be profitable. Start with identifying your talent and then just enjoy it. Soon, you will emphasis on it and critic your craft and as you do so the rest will just come with the flow of you doing something that you are great at and that you enjoy. You will identify things that you may even want to share with others, who love to do what you do as well… that mere desire alone can generate revenue for you!
